4 April 2024SMIRDEX S.A. participated at a conference organized by the Network of the Federation of Industries of Greece (SBE) of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. This collaborative event, held in conjunction with the Internship Office of Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), focused on the theme of “Practical Exercise – Possibilities of connecting University, Labor Market and Manufacturing in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace”.
During this conference, SMIRDEX SA presented its products and emphasized its export-oriented character. The company aimed to attract new students from Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) who could potentially join SMIRDEX’s departments in the future. This first meeting reflects SMIRDEX SA’s commitment to investing in recent graduates from DUTH, with the goal of bolstering the local community and retaining talented young individuals in the region. The Federation of European Producers of Abrasives (FEPA) is an organization that was first established in 1955 in Paris, France.
As its mission statement suggests, it is ‘’committed to its members and missions, aside from representing the European abrasive industry, to promote abrasives produced in Europe, inform members on the evolution of the regulatory framework in Europe and worldwide, support the producers with a range of technical, legal and scientific services, and anticipate future challenges in the abrasives sector’’. It is an engaged partner to the European Union, interacting on behalf of its members with European institutions, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders. FEPA represents the four main product segments of the European abrasive industry, namely the bonded and coated abrasives industries, the superabrasives industries and the grain manufacturing industries.
Our company, Smirdex S.A. and its management, decided to become a member of FEPA for the first time in 2023.
This decision reflects on the company’s commitment to manufacture products made with the highest quality standards, from its infancy in 1981. By becoming a member of FEPA, our company’s goals and standards are validated and strengthened even further, illustrating to the abrasives market its long term vision and showing the pathway of its future endeavors.
